Were
the stars who were cast to the Earth in Rev. 12 men or angels?
What difference is there between us and angels? The only difference I know of is the body that we presently occupy. Paul plainly said that there is a spirit body and there is a flesh body.
When we overcome and are resurrected
we will
inhabit spirit bodies. The word angel is a term not fully
understood
but we were all probably called angels until we let a cherub named
Lucifer
draw us away. He is the red dragon in Revelation 12.
What was the fruit that Adam ate in
Genesis 3:6?
Basically, it is very simple. Fruit is not literal here, it is figurative.
Lucifer seduced Eve mentally (spiritually, if you prefer) and physically. Further, I think the way he got to her was by convincing her that the Redeemer would be produced from their sexual union. It worked and he impregnated her, but she gave birth to no redeemer. Instead, she got Cain, the son of the Devil himself.
This subject and verse is covered pretty well in my lesson entitled Who Are The Tares?, which you can find here at ourfathersword.org. Go there now and study it.
Now, what about Adam? Unfortunately, there are some who think that this verse means that Adam also participated sexually with the Devil.
Absolutely not!!!
Lucifer knew that Adam would not fall for his lies directly, so he came in through the back door so to speak and used Eve. Adam loved Eve and Satan used that against him in a way.
Paul agrees with this.
Paul was giving young Timothy pastoral advice on how we should conduct ourselves before God, and this statement comes forth concerning the conduct of women. He emphatically demands that the woman not usurp authority over the man.
Eve did that, and she convinced Adam that what she had done was okay. He may not have liked the idea, but he went along with it anyway. In that sense he too ate of the fruit.
He did not lie with Satan! That is a patently stupid idea so don't you even consider it. Adam was perfect in his creation and he certainly was no pervert. What he did was stupid, but no less stupid than what most of us still do today.
What does that mean, you might ask?
We let Satan seduce us spiritually (mentally, if you prefer) just as easily as he did Eve.
Paul was worried about this.
2 Cor. 11:1 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2 Cor. 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
2 Cor. 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Sadly, many have been, and will be,
seduced
by the subtlety of the Antichrist who is that same Lucifer that was in
the Garden of Eden. Don't you be taken in like Eve, and don't go
along with it if someone you love tries to convince you otherwise.
Yes, the same.
The sons of Cush are listed here.
Nimrod was not a son of Cush like we understand the meaning of the word "son", but was a descendant of his. In other words, Nimrod came from the lineage of Cush through his mother and that is how he was "begat" of Cush. He was a Cushite through her.
The word mighty here is the Hebrew word gibbor (Strong's No. 1368) and means powerful, strong, or mighty, and by implication means a tyrant, or a warrior. The word is used of the offspring of the fallen angels in Genesis 6:4.
The words mighty men is the same word gibbor as above. I hope you can see the connection between the fallen angels and their offspring called gibbor. An interesting sidelight to the word gibbor is that the archangel Gabriel has the same root and means mighty man of God.
Nimrod is said to have been a giant in stature ten or more feet in height. Some scholars have said twelve feet tall. He is also said to be a warrior and a tyrant who was rebellious against God just like the offspring of the first influx of fallen angels before the flood. They required much food to sustain them and they were not farmers. They enslaved the descendants of Adam and made them farm the land for them.
Tragically, the land eventually was unable to produce what they and the descendents of Adam required for sustenance, and consequently, it is possible that they began to cannibalize the children of Adam.
Cush was the son of Ham who was the son of Noah. He was pure Adamic, not mixed, and he was of normal stature as were his offspring until the second influx of evil fallen angels. Go back up to Genesis 6:4 and notice the phrase and also after that. Giants were upon the earth after the flood also who were the children of fallen angels. Viz-a-viz Goliath and his brothers in the time of David.
There is enough evidence for me to
say that
he was a gibbor and his father was
one of the chief fallen angels,
not Cush, although he was a descendant of Cush through his mother.

How
long will the Antichrist reign?
He was originally given a time, times and half a time (3 1/2 years) in Daniel but that was shortened. You will find evidence of this in Matthew 24:22. In Revelation 9:5, 10 the time of five months is mentioned for the duration of his locust army to work and this is a good guesstimate also for him. Whether he remains in control longer than that remains to be seen.
A word of caution! Don't
confuse the
literal Antichrist (Lucifer himself) with the first beast of Revelation
13 even though he basically is its spiritual architect through his
children. The
first beast rises out of the sea,
(the people,
who are living on the Earth). It is basically western civilization
as we know it, which influences the entire world to a greater or lesser
degree depending on location.
Today its seventh and final head is
the only head left, and it is controlled by a shadow government
of oligarchs called Babylon the Great
in Revelation. They are, for the most part, Kenites (descendants
of Cain) whom Jesus called tares in Matthew
13. They control all important institutions in western
civilization including the four general catagories which are politics, economics, education
(includes
entertainment or edutainment),
and religion. Barry
Goldwater, the senator from Arizona, called them the four centers of
power political,
monetary, intellectual, and ecclesiastical respectively.
This first
beast has been around for a long, long time, as have the tares, and also
Babylon the Great. It has been manifested in seven
great controlling entities, or empires. 1) Egypt, 2)
Assyria, 3) Babylon, 4) Medo-Persia, 5) Greece, 6) Rome, and number
seven in our time now 7) Jacob/Esau.
Isn't
it enough just to keep the Ten Commandments?
No. I John 3:4 defines sin as breaking the law, so in order not to sin we must be aware of all the rules. There are many more than just 10, there are over 600. You must study His word and learn them.
To be a successful Christian you must also have faith and do the things that you were told to do. Like repent (take thought and change), be baptized by immersion, keep the Passover as Jesus gave us the example (or at least learn about the true meaning and fulfillment of the Passover, and abandon celebrating Easter), love God with all your heart, love your neighbor as yourself, let your light shine and do some works if you have opportunity.
And most importantly, when the Antichrist appears in the near future and schmoozes the world, don't worship him!
Is
it okay to celebrate birthdays?
Celebrating birthdays isn't very important in the overall scheme of things. We are all required to keep
up with our birthdate, and sometimes those of others as well, but whether one chooses to make a
celebration of them is strictly a personal preference.
Some traditions of men are acceptable because they have no real bearing on righteousness or salvation.
Birthdays are like that, and I don't see where He has ever put the nix on celebrating them. God has
given us free moral agency and wide latitude on doing things except those things which He, or nature,
teach us are not to be done.
Not all of our "worldly" culture is bad, but any of it that violates our Father's instructions to us is bad.
In the case of birthdays and certain holidays there is no sin, because sin is breaking God's law. Where
is it written that we are not to celebrate birthdays? Substituting Easter for Passover is wrong, but
celebrating birthdays is not prohibited, nor commanded anywhere in God's word that I am aware of.
Don't put restrictions on us when there are none from God.
Celebrating birthdays is not a sin in itself, but the way we celebrate them can be in some cases. Think
about it.
Will you ever do a study on the book of Isaiah? I have a very hard time fitting this book in with
Revelation.
Who knows? Isaiah is a prophetical book but it is also a historical book with a lot going on. It is
quoted elsewhere in the Bible quite a bit. If I do something on Isaiah it won't be soon. In the meantime,
here are a few scripture comparisons from Isaiah and Revelation. Look them over very carefully.
Isaiah 21:9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Isaiah 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Isaiah 34:4,10 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.Isaiah 34:10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Revelation 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
